The Ginger Bread House - A Christmas Village in Alfonso, Cavite

If there is one occasion that excites every Filipinos, it is no doubt but the Christmas Season.

In fact, Filipinos are known to have the longest celebration of Christmas which starts every first BER month of the year.  That was actually four months!  So as early as September, people are starting to decorate their homes to feel the warm spirit of Christmas.

However, there is this place in Alfonso, Cavite where you can experience the spirit of Christmas the whole year round.  So for those who will be going up in Tagaytay you can include this in your travel itenerary since Alfonso, Cavite is just a half an hour drives away to Tagaytay.

The place I am referring to is The Ginger Bread House which depicts a Christmas Village. Visitors can have a chance to see a real-life Christmas Village with all those cute fancy christmas decors themed with the famous American Ginger Bread House. A place that will surely be enjoyed by the kids and even adults who loves instagrammable spots and photos.

This themed-place leads you to the entire fairy book setting of the Grimm fairy tale story of two siblings Hansel and Gretel who was lost in the woods and stumble upon a ginger bread house filled with chocolates and candies but which unfortunately owns by a wicked witch.  However, this Ginger Bread House in this part of Alfonso gives a different setting of a happy Christmas-theme spirit.

Just like Tagaytay, Alfonso Cavite boost of it's cool weather.  Really perfect to feel the Christmas ambiance.  However, going to the place is a little bit struggle as this is located in a somewhat remote area where accesibility to transportation is limited.  So, it is much recommended that you go here with a private vehicle.

THE PLACE

From the entrance, you will walk through a path of life- size candy canes and be greeted with jolly ginger-man made from stand-alone painted woods.

You can also drop some coins in their Well of Dreams after which you silently give your own wish and hoping it will come true one day.

From the entrance you will have a great view of the facade of entire Ginger Bread House.  The structure is so big that it stands prominent in the area.

The bread house also serves as a a pastry restaurant that offers, freshly-baked breads, pastries, cookies, cakes, cup cakes and candies and gummies and drinks.

However, with the current pandemic situation Al Fresco dining is offered instead.

I love their table and chair covers that really gives a christmas vibes to the place.  It's every mother's part of wishlist when decorating their own homes for Christmas.

Another thing that caught my attention are the little christmas home decorations in the wall and rag dolls all over the place.

Going to the second floor of the house, you will see life-sized huggable teady bears that is worth instagrammable.

Outside of the Ginger Bread House will lead you to other spots such as these.

At the backyard, you can also have a tour of their Candy Village.  This one is good as a play area for the kids.

Little play houses are everywhere where kids can enjoy playing around.

There is also a fish spa where you can soak your feet while the fishes feast on your callouses.

The whole experience at The Ginger Bread House gives you an advance Christmas treat good for the whole family plus additional treats of instagrammable-worthy photos.

Let the child-like in you unleashed by visiting The Ginger Bread House.
