Baked Bangus in Cheesy and Creamy Recipe

Baked Bangus is a mouth-watering fish food recipe which seems to be complicated to cook but actually so easy to prepare and cook with few ingredients needed.

It is composed of milkfish or "bangus" and mostly basic ingredients that you can easily find in your own pantry.  Adding cheese and cream in the recipe is what makes this recipe something special and unique.

The main ingredient "bangus" is a Filipino term for milk fish.  It is a species of fish which is common to see in most wet markets and supermarkets.

There are several ways on how you can cook bangus.  Most common recipes are fried bangus, bangus steak and sinigang.

This time we will try to cook it diffently to serve our family something that  will add excitement in the family table.

My Baked Bangus in Cheesy and Creamy Recipe.

Prep Time:          5 minutes
Cooking Time:  15 minutes
Total Time:        20 minutes
Servings:            - 3

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole boneless bangus
  • 1 cheese, grated
  • 1/2 Nestle cream
  • 1 lemon/ 2 calamansi, extract
  • a few drops of Maggi Seasoning Liquid
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of white pepper
  • spring onion, for garnishing and added aromatic flavor

How to Cook:

  1. Clean the boneless bangus, removed scale and the tail.
  2. In a clean stainless pan, rest the boneless bangus in a aluminum foil.
  3. Sprinkle it with lemon/calamansi juice.  Pat the lemon/calamansi juice in the body of bangus to absorb the juice and remove the fishy smell.
  4. Seasoned it with salt and pepper and Maggi seasoning liquid.
  5. Marinate it for two minutes.
  6. After two minutes, add cream evenly in the bangus.
  7. Follow it up with grated cheese.
  8. Cook in a 150C heat oven for 15 minutes.
  9. Let the cheese and cream melted on top and turn into golden brown,
  10. Remove from oven and garnish it with spring onion for good table presentation and additional aroma.
Tips:  You can test if bangus is cooked by pinning fork in the fish meat.  If the tip of the fork does not stick within the fish meat that means that the fish is cooked.

Serve it hot with steamed rice.

Enjoy eating this yummy and delicious dish with the whole family and don't forget to share it with your favorite kapitbahay!
