Honey Garlic Shrimp

Honey Garlic Shrimp sticky-sweet savory sauce makes this dish extra exciting.

The main ingredients of course aside from the shrimp, is the honey and garlic which gives aromatic taste to the dish.

For the shrimp, medium to large size is well recommended.  You can clean the shrimp by cutting the top-edge of the head and its legs with a scissor.  Wash the shrimp with clean tap water and gently clean the shell with your fingers. Others, remove the head and shell of the shrimp.  But in this recipe, I did not remove the skin and head of the shrimp to maintain it's natural size.

Here 's how to cook Honey Garlic Shrimp:

Preparation Time :    10 minutes
Marinate Time      :    10 minutes
Cooking Time       :    10 minutes
Total Time             :    30 minutes
Serving                  :      3 - 4

Ingredients:
  • 1 kilo shrimps
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 water
  • a pinch of pepper
  • 1 thumb ginger, grated (optional)
  • green onion to garnish (optional)
How to cook:
  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, garlic and ginger and pepper.
  2. Separate half of the mixture.
  3. Use the other half to marinate shrimp for 10 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, mix and dissolve cornstarch with water.  Set aside.
  5. In a medium heat pan, add butter.
  6. Cook the marinated shrimp until the shrimp turns light pink.
  7. Add half of the mixture of soy sauce, honey, garlic and ginger and let it simmer.
  8. Add the dissolve cornstarch until the sauce thickens.
  9. Let the shrimp glazed.
  10. Remove from pan.
  11. Garnish with finely diced green onions.
Enjoy it with your favorite steamed rice and don't forget to share it with your favorite kapitbahay!

Mommy's Birthday @ Lutuan All Day Supermarket, All Homes

(A Dampa-style restaurant inside All-Day Supermarket All Homes)

Whooo!

Finally, I was able to open and update my blog after almost one month of being in a hiatus stage! I actually made a draft of this entry on the third week of August.  However, I've been busy lately from work and had been dead-tired that I could not update it at home.  Oh, did I mentioned to you before that I am a working mom? Yes, I am.  The super woman that I am!  My daily routine starts at 4:00 AM to prepare the kids from school, cook for their packed-lunch and everything.  I am just too lucky that my workplace is a few minutes rides from our home.  So before 8:00 AM I am already at work.  Office hours ends at 6:30 PM.  Prepare for dinner and for the next day meal until finally drop dead from bed.

Anyway, here's the long overdue entry of the activities I made for the month of August.

Month of August is a full-packed birthday celebration for my super pretty niece Allison, super generous brother-in-law Erick and of course our beloved Mommy's 74th birthday!

Since it was Sunday and the actual birthday date of Allison , we decided to first attend the Holy Mass to give thanks to the Lord for all the blessings He showered the whole family.

This is our dear church were we dutifully attend mass every Sunday morning

After the Sunday Mass, we headed straight to the nearest mall in our place to have our lunch.  As expected since it was Sunday, all restaurants at All Homes were fully packed by customers.   Surprisingly, we found this Lutuan inside All Days Supermarket were you can bought fresh seafood inside the supermarket and let their staffs cook it for you ala Dampa style.

Let's check who's in attendance!

    Team Martinez is here!

We will not be outbeaten, Team Ricahuerta!

Team Millorin!

Sister Aimee and mother superior just joined in the picture.  But it seemed that this little cute girl doesn't like it.

Hey, I spotted two long-time friends at the back!

My dear elementary and high school friends can you recognized the two beautiful ladies/sisters at the back???

sister Alice and nephew Angelo!

Now, let's go the Menu!

 Beef Teriyaki!

Ebi Tempura!

Buttered Shrimp!

Crab cooked in coconut milk!

Sinigang sa Miso Salmon!

Grilled salmon!

Of course,  what is birthday without birthday cakes!

And this little girl is busy munching her piece of cake!

After the birthday lunch, Team Ricahuerta still have time for some groupie shots!

We really had a nice time celebrating the birthdays of three important people in our family.

Mommy Sonia, Erick and niece Allyson.

We superbly enjoy the food.  It was like home-cooked meal.  Food price is also affordable.  The place is also convenient as it is within the mall area.  You can do shopping afterwards and parking is not a problem.

Lunch at Nanay Celing's House!

Well this is not where all the celebrations ended...

On Mom's actual birthday, we had an informal dinner with cousins.  Picnic style.  Since most of us live in one compound it was a random attendance.  Kung sino ang makaamoy... swerte!

this one came from cousin Ana

and also this one, Crema de Fruta!

I told you this is informal dinner.  Nobody cared to arrange the food

Laoya dish!

Similar to tagalog's nilaga.

( I always love this dish as a child...this dish always remind me of my grandfather who is a good cook)

After dinner...

the three sisters are having a good time!

Hey I realized some of the pictures were taken by another niece.

Coming soon for the other pictures.  Hopefully, I can still get it from her. :)

Happy Reading!
